This week, I'm disfiguring myself on the Tube laughing at Caitlin Moran's How To Be a Woman (along with half of London, it seems, including my chap ex-housemate) so Zinefest's timing was perfect. Just like the name says, it was a celebration of cool, funny ladies writing about cool, funny things in photocopied bundles of joy.
Just look at this collage, a rainbow wall of mixtapes, slogans, flyers and a whole lot of Le Tigre.
The stalls were ever so colourful and cute; we loved Chloe Cook's illustration-heavy zines...
...the riot grrrl-y First I Sprout Fangs...
...and my friend Liv's Shebang zine, a clever, wordy take on bands and travel.
I guess the Enchanted Hunters is my sort-of zine but these labours of love, the hours spent cutting, pasting and photocopying, reminds me how lazy and immediate blogging is compared to zines.
Another reminder from Saturday: one of the best slogans I've ever heard.
Too right.
