Call it third time lucky, because I just went to Barcelona for Primavera festival and, like last year, paid a trip to the finest of flea markets. Here's what I scored at the Mercat del Ecants for about 25 euros.
A silver hallmarked shell that levers open to reveal a hiding place, two dreamy frames and a decanter with a pretty label and the knobbles of a pineapple.
All that, and this strange little dress with a big sailor collar. I honestly think it was made from those cheap tea towels: it's home-made, and the stitches are endearingly wonky in places. If you're in Barcelona on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning, it would be a crime not to have a little look...

I was at Primavera too! Sadly we were hardcore this time (we went in 2009 too) and spent the whole day sleeping and the night (until 6am) at the festival so no flea markets for me :( I definitely need to go back again though so I'll have to check them out. x
ReplyDeleteLove all those finds. The bottom glasses look like mine, are they Oliver Peoples? xx
ReplyDeleteThis is why I booked a longer trip this time, Tamsin - we also did 6am every night, so I stayed until Tuesday morning so I had time to see even more Barcelona!
ReplyDeleteCazza, these reminded me of your Oliver Peoples but they're old, only 2 euro! I need to get lenses put in but they're still cheaper than new ones - although with the money saved I might treat myself to those OP shades..
