Owls and foxes are two of my favourite creatures and I've managed to combine them in my bedside lamp. The shade is from Lush Designs in Greenwich, and the base from US Urban Outfitters. Perched atop some oversize books that won't fit on my shelves.
My Russian station clock, bought with a press voucher from Debenhams I think, and my absolute favourite picture. It's by one of my best friends, John Aranda, who is very talented indeed. It's Richard, Helen and I (on the right) in our old house. Glossy, dramatic, and kind of odd.
This 30's Art Deco mirror was £5, and my best ever bargain on ebay. It's such a pretty shape, and reminds me of Arcade Fire's Neon Bible cover. It's also very good at reflecting messy rooms. If you look closely, you can spot the two-foot tall ice cream lamp I bought from Fred Flare after Mademoiselle Robot blogged about hers.
And the top of my chest of drawers. A huge wooden reminder to prevent more foot-in-mouth moments, a studded clutch, 50's vanity case and my Tintin mug, which was a present from my (blonde and quiffy) sweetheart.
I'm also pretty fond of my wardrobe, or rather the contents of it, but I'm afraid that's far too messy to show in public.. Speaking of dresses, I'm selling a few on ebay. Time for the first picnic of year, surrounded by gothy Victoriana at Abney Cemetary, one of the Magnificent Seven. Only the Victorians would invent a cute nickname for their favourite graveyards.

Man, that post makes me jealous! John and I need to get a nice clock for our place - find us one!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I live in a rented place too and sometimes it just feels so plain.
ReplyDeleteI did a similar thing with photos of the bits I love on my blog a while back!
I LOVE that mirror, I keep seeing similar things at Bootfairs recently and I really want one, but I don't know where I'd hang it, my walls are full!
