Karen Elson: The Ghost Who Walks
Found via the New Yorker of my dreams, White Lightning (her blog is like the blog of every sassy, pop-culture-referencing best friend in every great indie film - I'm thinking of Vickie in Reality Bites again), the wondrous Karen Elson at Le Poisson Rouge.
I think Karen Elson's a great beauty: from her quirky, intimidating catwalk turns to the gorgeous cheesecake shot on Lula's autumn cover. But, as if it wasn't enough to juggle modelling with owning Venus and Mars, the kind of Deep South vintage store I dream about, she also sings. don't know what I imagined she would sound like, but it's nothing like this. Here she is, in slightly wobbly YouTube vid, singing The Ghost Who Walks:

This song makes me melt. And that's nearly impossible on a Monday night.
